ABSORPTION - fine art photography prints

In Cromer, Norfolk, I leisurely strolled along the seafront toward its charming 1900s Pier and the historic Pavilion Theatre. Despite the sunny June day, the North Sea’s waters remained notably cold. Witnessing a man, bare-chested and wading knee-deep in the chilly waters caught my attention; rather him than me I thought! Peering over the sea wall, I also noticed his wife, relaxed in a deckchair, basking in the warm sun and engrossed in her smart phone. The contrast between them was stark: while he was totally attuned to his surroundings and the cold of the sea, she seemed warmly oblivious, comfortably lost in her digital space. This juxtaposition of absorption captures the essence of the moment. Two individuals sharing one location yet experiencing it in distinctly different ways, brought together in a single image.
