A High Street, familiar and timeless, a scene that could unfold in countless English towns. However, in this one there’s a twist; Queen Elizabeth II with her beloved Corgi’s watches over her subjects from a wall, embodying the quintessential English affection for their pet dogs. My task was simple: wait for her subjects to arrive with their canine companions in tow to join Her Majesty for “Walkies”. With the camera locked-down on a tripod and a stop-down filter controlling the harsh midday sun, I waited patiently, and the hours ticked by. The moment of convergence between people and dogs was elusive, slipping away with each attempt. But eventually, after countless retries, the right combination emerged in my viewfinder, a composition worthy not just of my patience, but of Her Majesty’s as well.
