STATIC
London’s iconic landmarks have been immortalised in countless photographs; Big Ben, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s Cathedral, familiar symbols that appear on postcards and are recognised across the globe. They carry the weight of history and expectation. I was looking instead for a different expression of the city, its present condition, the pulse of its scale, the sharp geometry of its skyline, and the density of people moving through it. Glass, steel, and light compress together, forming a city defined as much by momentum as by form. Yet the contradiction is unavoidable. The moment the shutter is released, movement is arrested. What was fluid becomes static, a fragment held in place and folded quietly into a narrative shaped over two thousand years.
