As the last traces of daylight fall away, the room lights are switched on, transforming the space. Sculpted shadows and warm tones settle against the coolness of the outside world.
A frame within a framed interior. Multiple lines set at ninety degrees, broken only by the circle of time on the wall. Simple in appearance, the image holds something more complex beneath the surface. I struggle to give it language, but I know it is there.
Artificial light alters everything it touches, drawing the space inward, turning it into a capsule. Time feels suspended in moments like this. Not paused, but briefly unmoved, as if the room exists entirely apart from the day that has just passed.
It haunts me.
