CLINK
To stand very still within a busy London street, while everything around remains in motion, opens the door to alternative rendering, easily overlooked. The flow is erratic and unpredictable, at times chaotic, yet there is value in holding your ground. The city briefly sheds its detail and becomes a series of gestures.
People become colour. Slow the act of seeing and allow figures to merge and blend, like overlapping brush strokes. A form of painting, not only in colour but in light, where darkness becomes the foil against which illumination is revealed.
In moments like this, intention loosens. Control gives way to alertness, and the streets are no longer something to be navigated, but something to be witnessed. The act of seeing slows, and with it, the urgency to arrive anywhere at all, gone. The final destination unknown. It is a practice of patience, learned over time rather than formalised and mastered.
These are not instructions, merely ways of looking.
Nothing is fixed; everything is momentary.
