ROOMS

I am not the first, and will not be the last, to photograph abandoned spaces. Restricted light, muted colour, and surface texture have long drawn photographers in. Yet this image felt different. The space carried an intangible atmosphere, difficult to describe and easier to sense, something that felt almost impossible to photograph.

The vivid green graffiti, ONE OF US, carried its own presence, quietly assertive, as though the room itself were speaking, to no one in particular. A whisper emerging from the shadows. A space within a space, a door frame resting on the floor rather than fixed in place, everything suggested openness rather than division.

It felt less like something to be explained, or a code to be deciphered, and more like an invitation. One without resistance, asking only to be stepped into.
